Thomson Reuters has launched the Checkpoint Learning Compilation and Review Certificate Program, which covers the essentials for practitioners performing compilation, review and preparation engagements using the proper standards. It also covers preparing for an engagement peer review.
There have been many changes to how CPAs prepare financial statements in recent years. This certificate program explores all four sections of SSARS 21 as well as SSARS 22 and 23, highlighting the changes from previous standards, and provides examples of how to incorporate them into one’s engagements.
“Keeping up with the latest SSARS changes provides both accounting firms and individual practitioners with opportunities to provide additional client services while properly following requirements, which is essential for a profession insistent on technical accuracy and rigor,” said Salim Sunderji, Managing Director, Checkpoint, with the Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting business. “We’ve created this certificate program in response to the demand from accountants seeking a new level of assurance. It can also lead to new business development and career opportunities for growth-oriented practitioners.”
Candidates who successfully complete the course work and comprehensive final exam will earn a Checkpoint Learning Compilation and Review Competency Certificate as well as approximately 29 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) credit.
Courses in this certificate program meet the accounting and auditing continuing professional education requirements held by more than 20 states, the CPE requirement for CPAs who perform compilation work (approximately 10 states) and the new compilation requirement for Oklahoma, as well as qualifying for general CPE credit in all U.S. CPA jurisdictions.
